The population frequently eats noodles in addition to rice as a basic diet. In Indonesia, noodles are increasingly used as the second most common meal item.
Ready-to-eat noodle are popular snack meal for students especially for elementary school in Indonesia. However, on the other side, a concern is the issue of schoolchildren's inadequate protein consumption.
The partnership will investigate whether modified noodles containing fish protein hydrolysate (FPH) can enhance their protein profile and, as a result, allow individuals to consume more protein.
As is well known, fish protein hydrolysate contains a fairly complete protein profile that includes simple peptides and amino acids. Enriching noodle with FPH will boost the protein profile ingredients.
Results are expected over the coming months and will provide wide-ranging insights on the potential of fish protein hydrolysate to be contribute in the children’s growth.
